Basmati rice with lentils

for 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 200 g brown lentils
  • salt
  • 200 g basmati rice
  • 1 bunch spring onions
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp Paprika powder
  • 2 tsp ground jeera
  • black pepper
  • 2 tbsp freshly chopped coriander

  • TILDA Basmati rice
  • RAJAH Ground jeera
  • NGR Cinnamon
  • NGR Paprika powder

Preparation

Preparation time: about 50 minutes (plus soaking time)

  1. Let the lentils soak in water overnight. Let them drip off the next day and cook them for 40 minutes in saltwater. After half the time add the rice to the boiling saltwater.

  2. Wash and cut the onion rings into small rings, Peal and squash the onion. Heat the oil in a pan and stew the onions and garlic in it for 5 minutes.

  3. Add the spices and let everything stew for another 5 minutes. Wash the coriander and chop it.

  4. Let the rice and lentils drip off and mix it well into the pan. Fold in the coriander and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm and enjoy!
