Pea curry with panir

for 4 persons

Ingredients:

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cm ginger root
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 2 green chillies
  • 3 tsp White wine vonegar
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 275 g Panir (Indian cheese)
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 150 g peas
  • freshly chopped coriander

Preparation

Preparation time: about 25 minutes (plus cooking time)

  1. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into cubes. Peel the onions, ginger and garlic, wash the chillies and chop them all into small pieces. Mix the ingredient with a mixer until you have a nice paste.

  2. Heat the oil in a pan, cut the Panir into cubes and deep fry them in the hot oil. Then take them out and let them dry off on a paper towel.

  3. Let the paste stew in the oil for 3 minutes - don't Forget to stir. Add turmeric, chilli, coriander and salt and let it stew for another 3 minutes, then add the mushrooms for additional 3 minutes.

  4. Add the peas and 225 ml of water and let it simmer with the lid closed for 10 minutes. Add the panir and let simmer another 10 minutes. Before serving besprinkle with fresh coriander.
